Ex Officio Law Review adopts the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0) or an equivalent open license as the optimal license for the publication, distribution, use, and reuse of scholarly works.

In setting its editorial strategy and publication priorities, Ex Officio Law Review adheres to the following principles:

  • Free access is preferable to paid access.
  • Libre access (free access with additional reuse rights) is preferable to free access.
  • Libre access under a CC BY-SA license (or equivalent) is preferable to libre access under more restrictive open licenses.

The journal is committed to advancing the principles of open access. We aim to achieve openness as far as possible, when possible. We should not delay achieving free access while striving for libre access, and we should not stop at free access when libre access is achievable.
