Author Guidelines

Authors are welcome to submit manuscripts to Ex-Officio Law Review. All submissions will undergo an initial editorial assessment to ensure alignment with the journal’s aims and scope. Manuscripts that meet these criteria will then proceed to a double-blind peer review process before a final decision on acceptance or rejection is made.

Before submission, authors must ensure that:

  • Permission has been obtained for any copyrighted material included in the manuscript (such as figures, tables, photographs, documents, or datasets).

  • All listed authors have given their consent to be identified as contributors to the work.

  • Where applicable, research involving human participants, data, or institutions has received approval from a relevant ethics committee and complies with legal requirements in the country of study.

The editorial team reserves the right to desk reject any manuscript that does not meet the minimum quality standards or falls outside the journal’s scope. To improve the chances of acceptance, authors are advised to:

  • Ensure the manuscript’s research design, structure, and argumentation are clear and well-organized.

  • Provide a concise title and a self-contained abstract that accurately reflects the study.

Once the manuscript meets these requirements, please refer to and follow the submission checklist below to prepare your paper for submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
