GUIDELINES FOR WRITING ARTICLES

General Information

Manuscripts must be original and have not been previously published in any scientific journal. They must also not be under consideration for publication elsewhere during the review process. Manuscripts may not be submitted to any other media unless formally withdrawn from BERNAS: Jurnal Penelitian Pertanian.

A similarity check supported by Turnitin is employed to prevent plagiarism. Authors are expected to explicitly cite the work and ideas of others, even when these are not quoted verbatim or paraphrased. This standard applies to both published and unpublished works or those available electronically. Failure to properly attribute other works may be considered plagiarism, which constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

The journal enforces a minimum similarity score of below 20%. Manuscripts with scores exceeding this threshold must be revised or rejected.

Scope of Submission

Manuscripts submitted should be within the following areas: Agronomy, Horticulture and Forestry, Landscape Architecture, Veterinary Medicine, Economics and Rural Development, Land Surveying and Improvement, Natural and Social Sciences, Agricultural Machinery, Environment, Food Industry, and related fields.

Publication Frequency

The journal is published three times a year: in April, August, and December.

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts must be written in Indonesian and adhere to scientific writing standards.

Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word, with graphs created in Microsoft Excel and images in JPEG or PDF format.

Text should use Arial Narrow font, size 12 pt, and be single-spaced throughout, including the abstract, body text, references, appendices, tables, and figures. Titles should use 14 pt, bold, uppercase, and centered formatting.

The manuscript should be formatted on A4-sized paper with 2.54 cm margins on all sides and range between 5 and 16 pages. Reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote should be used, formatted in APA style.

Template Compliance

Authors are obligated to adhere strictly to the BERNAS: Jurnal Penelitian Pertanian template.

Title and Abstract

Titles should not exceed 15 words and should refrain from employing acronyms or abbreviations. Abstracts should comprise 200-250 words, conveying information in a succinct manner (without citations). They must clearly define the problem, present the proposed approach or solution, and summarize the primary findings and conclusions.

Manuscript Content

The manuscript should be organized in the following sequence: Title, Authors and Affiliations, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and Acknowledgments (if applicable).

Introduction

The introduction should provide a contextual background for the research and clearly articulate its objectives. It should include: (1) Background: Offer a comprehensive overview of the field under investigation. (2) Problem Statement: Clearly state the issue and its significance. (3) Proposed Solution: Highlight the novel aspects and contributions of the study, supported by relevant citations.

Methods

Provide detailed descriptions of experimental methods, ensuring their reproducibility. Include pertinent protocols, data sources, and tools utilized, citing established methods appropriately.

Results and Discussion

Results: Present key findings in a concise manner, including statistical analyses. Avoid duplicating data between figures and tables.

Discussion: Interpret the findings in the context of the research questions and relevant literature, highlighting implications and contrasts with prior studies.

Conclusion

Conclude the research by summarizing the primary findings in a cohesive paragraph. Ensure that this conclusion aligns with the introduction and discussion sections. Discuss the practical implications of the findings and outline potential future research and application avenues.

Acknowledgments

Cite all funding sources, contributors, or institutions that supported the research endeavor.

References

Include a comprehensive list of references, with a minimum of 80% sourced from journal articles published within the last decade.

Self-citation should not exceed 10% of the total references.

Adhere to the APA citation style and ensure that all cited works are explicitly included in the reference list.
