Focus and Scope
BERNAS: Jurnal Penelitian Pertanian is a scientific journal dedicated to publishing original empirical research articles, comparative or historical studies, as well as theoretical, methodological, and integrative contributions. The journal’s focus and scope encompass various multidisciplinary aspects relevant to the advancement of science and practice in agriculture, including but not limited to:

Free Publication Fee Policy
Bernas: Jurnal Penelitian Pertanian is dedicated to promoting the dissemination of knowledge without financial impediments. Consequently, this journal does not impose any fees on authors for the submission, review, or publication of articles. All editorial processes, including peer-review, are conducted at no cost as a testament to our commitment to supporting open access and facilitating the publication of high-quality research findings.
By implementing this policy, we aspire to make a tangible contribution to the scientific community, particularly in the realm of agricultural research. Additionally, we encourage unrestricted collaboration and innovation.
Journal History
History of Bernas: Jurnal Penelitian Pertanian
Bernas: Jurnal Penelitian Pertanian was initially published in 2007 with the printed ISSN number 0216-7689. Since its inception, the journal has maintained a publication frequency of three times a year, namely in February, July, and October. This publication was established to provide a scientific platform that supports the advancement of agricultural research.
In response to the evolving landscape of technology and the growing demand for wider access, the journal submitted an online version of its ISSN on March 5, 2019 with the number 2656-5293. This submission was approved in accordance with Decree (SK) ISSN Number 0005.26565293/JI.3.1/SK.ISSN/2019.03. Consequently, the first edition of the online version commenced publication in Vol. 15, No. 1, in April 2019. This change in publication frequency was implemented to align with the journal’s new online presence, with publications now occurring in April, August, and December.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges to the journal’s sustainability. The management vacancy during this period resulted in a temporary halt to publishing activities. This situation posed a substantial obstacle for Bernas: Jurnal Penelitian Pertanian, which subsequently ceased publishing articles.
Despite these difficulties, Bernas: Jurnal Penelitian Pertanian demonstrated resilience and emerged stronger in 2023. With renewed determination and the support of a more robust team, the journal resumed its activities in publishing scientific articles that align with its established focus and scope. The journal’s presence within the scientific community has once again made a valuable contribution to the advancement and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the fields of agronomy, horticulture, forestry, and other disciplines related to agricultural research.
Throughout this challenging journey, Bernas: Jurnal Penelitian Pertanian remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of publication quality and relevance. The journal continues to provide a supportive environment for researchers, enabling them to effectively communicate the outcomes of their scientific endeavors to a broader audience.
