Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide legal counseling as an effort to overcome the crime of destructive fishing in Tanjung Tiram District, Batubara Regency. This practice causes damage to aquatic ecosystems and harms the welfare of coastal communities. Counseling is carried out through coordination with the local government, the preparation of interactive materials, and activities at the District Hall involving apparatus, community leaders, and fisheries business actors. The material is delivered by lecture methods, discussions, and simulations of real cases. The results of the activity show an increase in legal understanding, environmental awareness, and community commitment to comply with fisheries regulations and strengthen supervision. In conclusion, this legal counseling is a strategic step in the conservation of marine resources, with recommendations for similar activities to be carried out in a sustainable manner with the support of various stakeholders.
