Abstrak

This study aims to determine whether the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model has an effect on students' mathematical critical thinking skills assisted by the Desmos application in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Silau Laut. This study uses the Quasy Experiment technique which is included in the quantitative research method. In addition, this study found that the samples used were normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of data analysis show that the instruments used are valid and reliable. The population in this study were class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Silau Laut, with a research sample consisting of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The instrument used was a test. The results show that the mathematical critical thinking skills of students who apply the RME learning model assisted by the Desmos application are better than students who use the direct learning model, with an average of the experimental class of 79,2 higher than the average of the control class of 46,6.
