Abstrak

This study aims to analyze students’ creative thinking skills and identify the factors that influence these skills in mathematics learning. A qualitative approach was used with the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model. The research involved 30 seventh-grade students from Class VII A. Data were collected through creative thinking tests and documentation, with the tests administered door to door. The results show that the average level of students’ creative thinking ability was 28.13%, categorized as moderate. Further analysis indicates that students in the high and medium groups did not face significant barriers related to factors affecting creative thinking, whereas those in the low group experienced difficulties in intrinsic motivation and prior knowledge. These obstacles limited their ability to generate ideas and solve problems creatively. The findings suggest that the RME model can support the development of creative thinking skills, although additional support is needed for students with low motivation and limited conceptual understanding.
