EFEKTIVITAS MODEL ECOLA DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA TEKS EKSPLANASI BERBANTU MEDIA PUZZLE PADA SISWA KELAS XI SMA NEGERI 1 AIR BATU TAHUN AJARAN 2023/2024
Abstract
The aim of this research is to determine the improvement that occurs using the Ecola model assisted by puzzle learning media in the ability to read explanatory text in class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Air Batu for the 2023/2024 academic year. The type of research used is classroom action research with a qualitative and quantitative descriptive approach. The data collection tool uses tests in reading explanatory text. The subjects in this research were 36 students. Data were analyzed descriptively and presented in table form. The results of the research showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes, namely in the first cycle the average score was 75.41, 26 students (72.2%) completed their learning, 10 students (27.77%) did not complete it. Then in cycle II it increased, having an average score of 84.72, 33 students (91.6%) completed their learning, 3 students (8.33%) did not complete it. Thus, the use of the Ecola model assisted by Puzzle media in the learning process of reading explanatory texts can improve the learning outcomes of class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Air Batu.
