Abstrak
The Socialization of the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) and People Smuggling was carried out in Sei Kepayang Kanan Village, Asahan Regency, as an effort to increase public awareness of the dangers, modes, and impacts of these crimes. Trafficking and human smuggling are transnational crimes that often involve organized networks, with the main target of people who lack understanding of the risks of illegal migration or unclear job offers abroad. This socialization involved resource persons from law enforcement officials and community leaders who discussed related regulations, such as Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons, as well as the provisions of immigration and labor law. The material presented included forms of trafficking and smuggling of people, causative factors, characteristics of illegal recruiters, and reporting mechanisms if the public finds suspected criminal acts. Participants in the activity consisted of representatives of the village government, youth, women, and local traditional leaders. The implementation method includes the delivery of material, interactive discussions, and questions and answers. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of how to identify and report suspected cases of trafficking or human smuggling, as well as the formation of a joint commitment to prevention. Through this activity, it is hoped that Sei Kepayang Kanan Village will become an example of a village that is active in preventing trafficking and human smuggling, as well as becoming a strategic partner for law enforcement officials in creating a safe and free environment from these practices.
