SOSIALISASI POLA ASUH ANAK DAN REMAJA DALAM UPAYA PENANGGULANGAN STUNTING DI DESA LUBUK PALAS KECAMATAN SILAU LAUT
Abstract
This community service program is an implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through socialization on parenting patterns for children and adolescents as an effort to prevent stunting in Lubuk Palas Village, Silau Laut District. Stunting is not merely a nutritional issue but reflects the failure to meet children's basic needs, which significantly impacts the quality of future human resources. The activity was carried out in a participatory manner, involving housewives, adolescent girls, posyandu cadres, community leaders, and village officials through material delivery, interactive discussions, simulations, and the distribution of educational leaflets. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ knowledge regarding parenting, nutrition, and the importance of family roles in stunting prevention. However, observations revealed several main problems, including low public understanding of proper parenting, limited involvement of local leaders and health cadres, lack of access to nutritional information, low awareness of fathers’ roles, and the persistence of early marriage practices. These findings highlight the need for continuous education programs, cross-sector collaboration, and improved family health literacy as long-term strategies to reduce stunting prevalence in the village.
