Abstract
The socialization of public information disclosure activities was carried out in Sei Kepayang Village as an effort to increase the understanding of village officials and the community regarding the importance of transparency in the implementation of village government. This activity is based on Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure which requires public bodies to be transparent, accountable, and participatory. The activity method includes material presentations, group discussions, and question and answer sessions with competent speakers. The material presented included the basic concepts of information disclosure, classification and procedures for requesting information, the role of the Village Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID), and the benefits of information disclosure in preventing abuse of authority. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge, a positive attitude towards information disclosure, and the commitment of village officials to implement public information service standards. This socialization is expected to be the first step in the formation of a culture of transparency, which is able to strengthen accountability, increase community participation, and realize democratic and responsive village governance.
