Abstract

Socialization activities regarding the urgency of trademark registration and legal protection for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) were carried out as an effort to increase legal awareness and public understanding of the importance of trademark protection. So far, many MSE actors have run businesses without registering trademarks, so they are vulnerable to facing legal problems such as counterfeiting, trademark disputes, and loss of business identity. This condition occurs due to limited knowledge and information regarding the trademark registration procedure and the legal benefits obtained after the trademark is registered. Through this socialization activity, MSE actors are given an understanding of the brand concept, registration procedures at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI), and the importance of legal protection for business sustainability. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the benefits of brand registration, including as a form of legal protection, increasing competitiveness, and strengthening business identity in the midst of market competition. With this activity, it is hoped that MSE actors will have higher legal awareness, be motivated to register their business brands, and be able to protect their products and business identities in a sustainable manner.
