THE INFLUENCE OF DISCOVERY LEARNING METHODS ON STUDENTS’ WRITING DESCRIPTIVE IN USING OF ATHLETES VLOG MEDIA AT GRADE X SMA NEGERI 2 TANJUNG BALAI IN 2023/2024 ACADEMIC YEAR

Abstract

The purpose of this research is whether there is a significant the Influence of Discovery Learning Methods on Students’ Writing Descriptive Text in Using of Athlete Vlog Media at grade X SMA Negeri 2 Tanjung Balai in 2023/2024 Academic Year. This type of research is a quasi-experiment with a two-group research design, namely pretest and posttest. The population in this research were all grade X classes consisting of 7 classes. The samples of this research were two classes (class X-1 and class X-2) which were taken by random sampling. In class X-1 as an experimental class using the discovery learning method with athlete vlog media and in class X-2 as a control class with conventional learning methods. After the learning was completed, a post test was obtained with the average results of the experimental class 78.27 and the control class 46,77. The t- test results obtained t-score = 23,16> t-table 2.00 Then Ha is accepted. Thus, it is obtained that there is an influence on student learning outcomes using the discovery learning method using athlete Vlog media on student learning outcomes in descriptive text material in class X SMA Negeri 2 Tanjung Balai.
