PENGARUH INTERVENSI SUPPORTIVE EDUCATIVE BERBASIS CARING TERHADAP SELFCARE MANAGEMENT PADA PENDERITA HIPERTENSI DI DESA DELITUA BARAT

Abstract

ABSTRACTHypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease-related deaths, caused by genetic, environmental, andsocialfactors. Intervention strategies are urgently needed to increase awareness and self-care. This study aims to analyze the effect of caring-based supportive educative intervention on self-care management in hypertensive patients in Deli Tua Barat village in 2024. The study design is quasi-experimental. The population consists of all hypertensive patients, totaling 76 individuals, with a sample size of 32 individuals selected using simple random sampling. The sample was divided into two groups: the intervention group, consisting of 16 individuals who received caring-based supportive educative intervention, and the control group, consisting of 16 individuals who received a leaflet about hypertension. The results of the independent t-test showed that the self-care management scores of the intervention and control groups after the intervention were p=0.069. The delta score difference in self-care management between the intervention and control groups after the intervention was p=0.075. This study demonstrates that caring-based supportive educative intervention is effective in improving self-care management in hypertensive patients. This intervention can be a promotive effort to increase self-care independence in hypertensive patients. KeyWord: Hypertension, caring, selfcare, supportive educative
