Abstract


ABSTRACT

 

The rationale for Islamic boarding school education institutions originated from the lack of public knowledge of religious science. This mindset has become the strong determination of Indonesian ulama who have taken religious education to try to form small recitations by discussing religious studies and deepening historical knowledge. The methods that are carried out are still standing strong even though they have entered the formal education level with the term pondok pesantren. The entry of technology into the design of the educational curriculum has not stopped the education and learning system that has long been born in Islamic boarding schools. They continue to develop the learning structure by prioritizing religion and history as the main elements in the development of knowledge and character building. This uniqueness is an innovation in the educational background of modern Islamic boarding schools
