THE EFFECT OF SPEED READING STRATEGY ON STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION AT GRADE X OF SMK SWASTA AL MASHUM KISARAN
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine whether it is a rule to apply speed reading strategies to the reading scores of students in Class X SMK Swasta Al Mashum Kisaran for the 2022/2023 school year. This type of study is a quantitative study design with her two groups, control and experimental. The study population was all he class X consisting of 8 classes. The study sample consisted of X TKJ 1 and X TKJ 2 of all students. Class X TKJ 1 as an experimental class using a speed reading strategy and X TKJ 2 as a control class using a conventional strategy. After learning is completed. Post-test was achieved with a mean score of 81.33 in the experimental class and 78 in the control class. Obtained t-test result = 2.729 > t-table = 2.002, indicating that Ha's accepted results have an impact on students' reading comprehension of X SMK Swasta Al Mashum Kisaran.
