PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED INSTRUCTION TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS TEKS EKSPLANASI SISWA KELAS XI SMA NEGERI 2 TANJUNGBALAI TAHUN AJARAN 2021/2022

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the problem based instruction learning model on the ability to write explanatory texts of class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungbalai for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Instruction learning model on the writing abilities of class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungbalai for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. The sample of this research is 36 students. The research model is an experiment and the research design is a post-test only control group design. The data collection instrument used a test in the form of the ability to write explanatory texts with the following criteria: text structure, text cohesiveness, linguistic rules, spelling and punctuation accuracy. The results of data analysis obtained that the average value of the post test ability to write explanatory text without using the Problem Based Instruction learning model obtained the highest score of 80, the average score of 75, and the lowest score of 65, an average of 73.33. The post test score for the ability to write explanatory text using the Problem Based Instruction model obtained the highest score of 90, the moderate score of 85, and the lowest score was 70, the average score was 80.41. From the calculation of the "t" test obtained > namely 88.5 > 2.00 and 88.5 > 2.65. Then the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of the Problem Based Instruction learning model on the ability to write explanatory texts of class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungbalai for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. It can be concluded that the better the application of the Problem Based Instruction model, the better the ability to write explanatory texts for class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungbalai for the 2021/2022 Academic years.
