PENGEMBANGAN PERANGKAT PEMBELAJARAN DENGAN PENDEKATAN SCIENTIFIC UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MATEMATIS SISWA
Abstract
In essence, this research is a development research with the aim of producing quality learning tools. To achieve that, the development of the model used in this study is the development of the 4-D model proposed by Thiagarajan, into three stages namely the Define stage, the Design stage and the Develop stage. The population of this research is the students of class X-1 and X-2 SMA Swasta Kartika I-4 Pematang siantar. The learning tools developed are lesson plans and LKPD. The instruments used consisted of validation of learning tools, validation sheets for students’ mathematical critical thinking skills, teacher respone questionnaire validation sheets, student response questionnaires validation sheets, student activity observation validation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and student activity observations. The results show that the learning tools developed with the scientific approach: (1) are in the very valid category; (2) has met the criteria of being very practical and effective; (3) there’s an increase in students’ mathematical critical thinking skills from trial I to trial II by 14.69%. Researchers suggest that learning with a scientific approach becomes an alternative of teachers in improving students’ mathematical critical thinking skills.
